While down in La La land we watched Forest Gump at the hotel. When I was in the eighth grade my mom bought me the soundtrack for my birthday. I loved it so much. I still listen to that album along with the Beatles when I bake at home. This is one of my favorite ways to spend a free afternoon at home. Baking and listening to “I got shot in the buttocks.”
One of Mom’s favorite pastry is Ginger Sconces. I made these scones for her and gave her the recipe. And yes, I was listening to Forest Gump when making them. As well as remembering how I would constantly tell her I wanted a VW Beatle for my first car, and more tie dyed t-shirts.
Don’t k ow if you’ve had a chance to encounter Bumma gump’s shrimp yet, but my family and I visited one of their chains in HK. Fantastic for foodies and film fans alike! I hope you’ve had a great holiday and year this far, happy noms for 2013!
