Last week I wanted to make a cake and use pastry cream and Gooseberry Jam as the filling. I don’t own a whisk. Yes, I went to Pastry School and I have a mixer, cookie cutters, rolling pins, spoons and all sorts of pans and knifes. And yet I do not have the simplest, most useful tool in the kitchen. A whisk. This is how I tried to make pastry cream this week ghetto style. LAME. SO LAME. I need a whisk.

Even more lame is this is how it came out. EEEWWWWWW. Seriously I have to go and buy a whisk and remember to pay attention when making pastry cream. Because that yumminess burns so easily.
I don’t have a whisk either. I just use a fork and whip it around like a crazy person. Every time I go to the store to look at whisks, I can’t seem to make up my mind. There seems to be a million different kinds, sizes, and colors, and I end up not buying one.
I finally broke down and bought one, the fork wasn’t cutting it anymore.
